About The Audio Mangle
The Audio Mangle is a recording and sound design studio in Yorkshire, England. The studio is based around a digital multitrack system with a wide selection of acoustic and electronic instruments, effects and microphones to suit just about any job.
The studio's first incarnation came about in around 2002 when a local band, friends of The Audio Mangle's Tim Gillespie, couldn't afford to hire a "proper" studio for their demo, so we cobbled together a PC-based system using three separate sound cards, lots of parts from Maplin's and a soldering iron, along with half a dozen borrowed microphones and a corner of a mutual friend's shop store-room, and The Audio Mangle was born!
All services are available on a freelance basis for work on web, game, video and broadcast audio projects, including backing music, sound effects and voice-over.
Recordings are performed in-house, which helps keep down costs and turnaround time. A small roster of session musicians are on hand to cover instruments and styles unavailable directly. Location and foley recording of original sound effects is also a speciality.
